Why the UAE
The UAE is one of the world's most open and dynamic business centers, and Dubai and Abu Dhabi have become genuine education hubs in recent years — home to full branch campuses of NYU, Sorbonne and other renowned universities, where students earn the same degrees while studying in the Middle East.
Instruction is almost universally in English, removing the language barrier for most international applicants, and the country is known for safety, modern infrastructure, and a business environment friendly to foreigners — including no personal income tax.
Language of instruction and universities
The vast majority of programs — at both public and private universities — are taught in English, so applicants are typically expected to hold an international certificate (IELTS/TOEFL) rather than Arabic proficiency.
The country combines national universities (such as University of Dubai and Khalifa University) with branch campuses of renowned foreign universities — offering a recognized international degree while staying closer to home and often on a more predictable budget than the original overseas campus.
Visa and cost
A UAE student visa is generally processed with the university's assistance after admission — the process is well-established and relatively fast by international education standards.
Tuition costs vary widely — from affordable programs at national universities to fees comparable with Western campuses at prestigious private universities and branch campuses. Many universities offer merit-based scholarships.
