Capital Medical University (CCMU), founded in 1960, is Beijing's leading medical university. It doesn't carry 211 or 985 status, but is widely regarded as one of the strongest medical schools in China for clinical training. Not to be confused with China Medical University (cmu) in Shenyang — these are two separate schools.

Chinese universities tighten portfolio and motivation-letter requirements every year — we track this university by university, so every application matches what the admissions committee actually expects right now.

CCMU's distinguishing strength is its network of affiliated Beijing hospitals — Xuanwu Hospital, Tiantan Hospital (one of Asia's leading neurology and neurosurgery centers), Anzhen Hospital (cardiology), Beijing Children's Hospital, and others — giving students access to top-tier clinical training.

The university admits international students to language programs, bachelor's and master's degrees, and medical programs, and offers grants. Especially attractive for students interested in neurology, neurosurgery or cardiology.
