The university traces its history to 1175: the medieval university had disappeared by the fourteenth century and the modern one was re-established in the 1680s. It now spans two cities, nine departments and around 20,000 students.
What it is known for is named outright: the Enzo Ferrari Department of Engineering. The master's in Advanced Automotive Engineering is taught entirely in English and splits into six curricula β racing car design, high-performance car design, advanced motorcycle engineering, advanced powertrain, advanced sportscar manufacturing and off-highway vehicle engineering.
