The University of Bergamo is an Italian public university located in Bergamo, Italy, founded on 11 December 1968. Originally established as the Institute of Foreign Languages and Literature, the institution has grown to be organized into seven departments, three campuses, and forty-one degree courses.
The university expanded its academic offerings under Rector Serio Galeotti between 1972 and 1975, during which time the degree course in economics and business was introduced. Today, its structure supports a diverse range of academic pursuits across its departments and campus locations.
