The University of Cologne (German: UniversitΓ€t zu KΓΆln) is a public research university located in Cologne, Germany. Originally established on May 21, 1388, it was the fourth higher education institution founded in the Holy Roman Empire, following Charles University in Prague, the University of Vienna, and Heidelberg University. After closing in 1798, the university was re-established in 1919. It is currently one of the largest universities in Germany, accommodating around 43,594 students.
The institution is a member of the German U15 association of major research-intensive universities and held the status of a university of excellence as part of the German Universities Excellence Initiative from 2012 to 2019. It provides a comprehensive academic environment with a strong emphasis on research and a diverse array of study programmes spanning multiple faculties and disciplines.
International applicants will find a vibrant academic community situated within a major European cultural and economic hub. Prospective students should carefully review the specific language proficiency requirements and application procedures for their chosen programmes, utilizing the official admissions channels and preparation services available for international candidates.

What the work covers for this countryCommon questions about admission
Why apply through UNIPROFI specifically?
UNIPROFI is about a well-thought-out application and a strong outcome: we build an application path around your profile, goals and the requirements of your selected universities. You work with mentors who are current students or graduates of these schools, so you get real understanding of the system, campuses and opportunities β not theory. We take on complex cases (including minors and admission without an 11th-grade diploma), build an individual strategy for your profile and goals, and support you through every stage, from documents to your visa.
Do you guarantee admission?
We don't offer "guarantees for the sake of a sale," because no one can directly influence a university's decision. What we do is structure everything to minimize the risk of rejection β matching you to the right universities, building a strong application strategy, and preparing documents carefully. Any refund or re-application arrangement is governed only by the current service agreement and the circumstances of the case.
What are my actual chances of getting in?
We do not state a universal admission probability because the decision belongs to the university. We instead assess your profile, programme requirements and application strategy.
Can I apply on my own β why do I need you?
You can, but most students end up losing time, making mistakes, or settling for weaker universities. We save you months, help you start at a stronger level, and prevent the mistakes that can cost you admission.
