Başkent University is a private university located in Turkey's capital, Ankara. The institution was founded on January 13, 1994, by Professor Dr. Mehmet Haberal. While the university center is situated in Ankara, it also operates medical, research, and dialysis centers all around Turkey.
The university has a notable history rooted in health sciences and medical education. It was originally established in 1993 with the cooperation of the Turkish Organ Transplant and Burns Treatment Foundation, earning the distinction of being the first private university to teach health sciences in Turkey.
