Kazimierz Wielki University (Uniwersytet Kazimierza Wielkiego, UKW) is a state-funded university in Bydgoszcz, Poland. It is named after Casimir III the Great, King of Poland from 1333 to 1370, who granted the city its municipal rights on 19 April 1346. The university dates from 1968 and has held its current name and university status since 13 May 2005.

It grew out of a teacher training college and spent decades preparing teachers: from 1974 to 2000 it was the Higher School of Pedagogy, then for five years the Kazimierz Wielki Academy. Today it has six faculties: Humanities; Mathematics, Physics and Technical Sciences; Natural Sciences; Pedagogy and Psychology; Administration and Social Sciences; and Physical Education, Health and Tourism. Together they offer about 100 courses of study and specialties.

Because of that history, teacher education is one of its longest-standing fields. International applicants should check in advance which programmes are taught in English and which only in Polish. Entry requirements depend on the programme and the intake year.

Almost everywhere the language is checked before admission, not after. We prepare for the exams admissions offices actually ask for.

Common questions about admission

Why apply through UNIPROFI specifically?

UNIPROFI is about a well-thought-out application and a strong outcome: we build an application path around your profile, goals and the requirements of your selected universities. You work with mentors who are current students or graduates of these schools, so you get real understanding of the system, campuses and opportunities — not theory. We take on complex cases (including minors and admission without an 11th-grade diploma), build an individual strategy for your profile and goals, and support you through every stage, from documents to your visa.

Do you guarantee admission?

We don't offer "guarantees for the sake of a sale," because no one can directly influence a university's decision. What we do is structure everything to minimize the risk of rejection: matching you to the right universities, building a strong application strategy and preparing documents carefully. If you complete the whole process under your plan and are not admitted to any of the universities we applied to, the service agreement lets you choose: a refund minus costs already incurred (university fees, translations, courier) or a free re-application for the next intake.

What are my actual chances of getting in?

We do not state a universal admission probability because the decision belongs to the university. We instead assess your profile, programme requirements and application strategy.

Can I apply on my own — why do I need you?

You can, but most students end up losing time, making mistakes, or settling for weaker universities. We save you months, help you start at a stronger level, and prevent the mistakes that can cost you admission.
