Chongshin is a Christian university in Seoul with deep ties to conservative Presbyterianism and Reformed theology; it belongs to the Presbyterian Church in Korea (HapDong). It began in 1901 as a seminary in Pyongyang, whose first president was the American missionary Samuel Austin Moffett. The Japanese authorities closed it in 1938; it reopened in Seoul in 1948 and became a university in 1995.

Undergraduates choose from eight departments: Social Work, Child Studies, Church Music, Early Childhood Education, History Education, English Education, Christian Education and Theology. At graduate level the seminary and graduate schools award degrees including the M.Div, Th.M., Th.D., M.M. and PhD, with separate graduate schools of Education, Mission and Social Work.

It suits students who want to study theology, church music or education in a Christian setting. The campus is by Isu Station, also called Chongshin University Station. Check the teaching language of your programme before applying. We can help you prepare your documents.

Need the language to apply?

Almost everywhere the language is checked before admission, not after. We prepare for the exams admissions offices actually ask for.

Common questions about admission

Why apply through UNIPROFI specifically?

UNIPROFI is about a well-thought-out application and a strong outcome: we build an application path around your profile, goals and the requirements of your selected universities. You work with mentors who are current students or graduates of these schools, so you get real understanding of the system, campuses and opportunities — not theory. We take on complex cases (including minors and admission without an 11th-grade diploma), build an individual strategy for your profile and goals, and support you through every stage, from documents to your visa.

Do you guarantee admission?

We don't offer "guarantees for the sake of a sale," because no one can directly influence a university's decision. What we do is structure everything to minimize the risk of rejection: matching you to the right universities, building a strong application strategy and preparing documents carefully. If you complete the whole process under your plan and are not admitted to any of the universities we applied to, the service agreement lets you choose: a refund minus costs already incurred (university fees, translations, courier) or a free re-application for the next intake.

What are my actual chances of getting in?

We do not state a universal admission probability because the decision belongs to the university. We instead assess your profile, programme requirements and application strategy.

Can I apply on my own — why do I need you?

You can, but most students end up losing time, making mistakes, or settling for weaker universities. We save you months, help you start at a stronger level, and prevent the mistakes that can cost you admission.
