Korea National University of Education (KNUE) was founded in 1984 by presidential decree. Teacher training and educational research are all it does. It is the only university in South Korea that prepares kindergarten, primary and secondary school teachers together. About 2,400 undergraduates and 3,300 graduate students study here.

Four colleges run 24 undergraduate programmes, and three graduate schools run 50 master's and doctoral programmes. Graduates receive a bachelor of education and a teaching certificate, and the university had produced 16,000 of them by 2017. It also retrains working teachers and handles national qualification training for school principals and master teachers.

The bachelor's degree is built for future Korean schoolteachers: you need a recommendation letter from a local education superintendent and an interview, and you're admitted straight into a major. A master's is the more realistic route for an international student. Since 2018 the university has hosted the KOICA-KNUE Master's Degree Program in Global Education Leadership for KOICA fellows, with around 15 people chosen each year. Requirements depend on the programme and the intake year.

Need the language to apply?

Almost everywhere the language is checked before admission, not after. We prepare for the exams admissions offices actually ask for.

Common questions about admission

Why apply through UNIPROFI specifically?

UNIPROFI is about a well-thought-out application and a strong outcome: we build an application path around your profile, goals and the requirements of your selected universities. You work with mentors who are current students or graduates of these schools, so you get real understanding of the system, campuses and opportunities — not theory. We take on complex cases (including minors and admission without an 11th-grade diploma), build an individual strategy for your profile and goals, and support you through every stage, from documents to your visa.

Do you guarantee admission?

We don't offer "guarantees for the sake of a sale," because no one can directly influence a university's decision. What we do is structure everything to minimize the risk of rejection: matching you to the right universities, building a strong application strategy and preparing documents carefully. If you complete the whole process under your plan and are not admitted to any of the universities we applied to, the service agreement lets you choose: a refund minus costs already incurred (university fees, translations, courier) or a free re-application for the next intake.

What are my actual chances of getting in?

We do not state a universal admission probability because the decision belongs to the university. We instead assess your profile, programme requirements and application strategy.

Can I apply on my own — why do I need you?

You can, but most students end up losing time, making mistakes, or settling for weaker universities. We save you months, help you start at a stronger level, and prevent the mistakes that can cost you admission.
