Universidad Isabel I is a private, state-recognised university in Burgos. It was founded in 2008, and in 2011 the parliament of Castile and León passed Act 3/2011 allowing it to award official bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees. Its main building is the former seminary in the upper part of the city, about 500 metres from the cathedral. A second campus is in Valladolid.

The university is built mainly for people who work: courses run online or in a blended format, so study fits around a job. It has five faculties: law and economics, natural sciences and technology, health sciences, humanities and social sciences, and criminology. In 2020/21 it offered 12 bachelor's degrees, 7 double bachelor's programmes and more than 50 master's and postgraduate programmes. All courses use ECTS credits, so the degrees are read the same way across the European Higher Education Area.

Since 1 April 2022 the university has taken part in Erasmus+, so students can spend a term at another European university. Its language department prepares students for the Oxford Test of English and the SIELE Spanish exam, which helps if you need to prove your level. If you plan to move to Spain rather than study from home, check first whether your programme has an on-campus format.

Common questions about admission

Why apply through UNIPROFI specifically?

UNIPROFI is about a well-thought-out application and a strong outcome: we build an application path around your profile, goals and the requirements of your selected universities. You work with mentors who are current students or graduates of these schools, so you get real understanding of the system, campuses and opportunities — not theory. We take on complex cases (including minors and admission without an 11th-grade diploma), build an individual strategy for your profile and goals, and support you through every stage, from documents to your visa.

Do you guarantee admission?

We don't offer "guarantees for the sake of a sale," because no one can directly influence a university's decision. What we do is structure everything to minimize the risk of rejection: matching you to the right universities, building a strong application strategy and preparing documents carefully. If you complete the whole process under your plan and are not admitted to any of the universities we applied to, the service agreement lets you choose: a refund minus costs already incurred (university fees, translations, courier) or a free re-application for the next intake.

What are my actual chances of getting in?

We do not state a universal admission probability because the decision belongs to the university. We instead assess your profile, programme requirements and application strategy.

Can I apply on my own — why do I need you?

You can, but most students end up losing time, making mistakes, or settling for weaker universities. We save you months, help you start at a stronger level, and prevent the mistakes that can cost you admission.
