The University of La Laguna (Universidad de La Laguna, ULL) is a public research university on the island of Tenerife and the oldest university in the Canary Islands. Its roots go back to 1701, when the Augustinians set up a centre for advanced studies in La Laguna, and it took its current name in 1927. It has six campuses: Central, Anchieta, Guajara, Campus del Sur, Ofra and Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

Its academic strengths lie in physics, mathematics, medicine and space science. The university runs 13 research institutes, among them the internationally known University Institute of Tropical Diseases and Public Health of the Canary Islands.

Teaching takes place in San Cristóbal de La Laguna and Santa Cruz de Tenerife, and the university also runs summer schools on Lanzarote, La Gomera and La Palma. It suits students who want a Spanish degree in a quieter island city rather than in Madrid or Barcelona. Student life has its own customs too: every 13 November students across the Canaries skip class for the Fuga de San Diego, a tradition dating from 1919.

Almost everywhere the language is checked before admission, not after. We prepare for the exams admissions offices actually ask for.

Common questions about admission

Why apply through UNIPROFI specifically?

UNIPROFI is about a well-thought-out application and a strong outcome: we build an application path around your profile, goals and the requirements of your selected universities. You work with mentors who are current students or graduates of these schools, so you get real understanding of the system, campuses and opportunities — not theory. We take on complex cases (including minors and admission without an 11th-grade diploma), build an individual strategy for your profile and goals, and support you through every stage, from documents to your visa.

Do you guarantee admission?

We don't offer "guarantees for the sake of a sale," because no one can directly influence a university's decision. What we do is structure everything to minimize the risk of rejection: matching you to the right universities, building a strong application strategy and preparing documents carefully. If you complete the whole process under your plan and are not admitted to any of the universities we applied to, the service agreement lets you choose: a refund minus costs already incurred (university fees, translations, courier) or a free re-application for the next intake.

What are my actual chances of getting in?

We do not state a universal admission probability because the decision belongs to the university. We instead assess your profile, programme requirements and application strategy.

Can I apply on my own — why do I need you?

You can, but most students end up losing time, making mistakes, or settling for weaker universities. We save you months, help you start at a stronger level, and prevent the mistakes that can cost you admission.
