The University of Sassari is a public university in northern Sardinia and one of the oldest in Italy. Alessio Fontana, who served in the chancellery of Emperor Charles V, left money to found it in 1558, and teaching began in May 1562. The Jesuits ran it in its early years. Today it has more than 18,000 students and about 700 teaching staff.
The Censis Research Institute places Sassari among the best medium-sized universities in Italy; in 2009–2010 it came first in that group. Its departments cover agriculture, architecture and design, chemistry and pharmacy, law, veterinary medicine, medicine and surgery, economics and business, the humanities and social sciences, and history and education. The university also runs a botanical garden. Two Italian presidents, Antonio Segni and Francesco Cossiga, studied here, as did the politician Enrico Berlinguer.
Sassari suits students who want a small, quiet university town rather than Rome or Milan. Before you apply, check the language of your programme and the level of Italian it requires.

Common questions about admission
Why apply through UNIPROFI specifically?
UNIPROFI is about a well-thought-out application and a strong outcome: we build an application path around your profile, goals and the requirements of your selected universities. You work with mentors who are current students or graduates of these schools, so you get real understanding of the system, campuses and opportunities — not theory. We take on complex cases (including minors and admission without an 11th-grade diploma), build an individual strategy for your profile and goals, and support you through every stage, from documents to your visa.
Do you guarantee admission?
We don't offer "guarantees for the sake of a sale," because no one can directly influence a university's decision. What we do is structure everything to minimize the risk of rejection: matching you to the right universities, building a strong application strategy and preparing documents carefully. If you complete the whole process under your plan and are not admitted to any of the universities we applied to, the service agreement lets you choose: a refund minus costs already incurred (university fees, translations, courier) or a free re-application for the next intake.
What are my actual chances of getting in?
We do not state a universal admission probability because the decision belongs to the university. We instead assess your profile, programme requirements and application strategy.
Can I apply on my own — why do I need you?
You can, but most students end up losing time, making mistakes, or settling for weaker universities. We save you months, help you start at a stronger level, and prevent the mistakes that can cost you admission.
