UNIST is a public science and technology university in Ulsan, South Korea's industrial capital. With KAIST, GIST and DGIST it is one of the country's four nationally funded research institutes. It was founded in 2007 and took its first undergraduates in 2009. Hyundai Motor, Hyundai Heavy Industries' shipyards and SK Energy's petrochemical plants are its neighbours, and the university works closely with local industry.
UNIST was modelled on KAIST, MIT and HKUST. It has 13 science and engineering departments, a business school and a School of Liberal Arts that runs the first-year curriculum. Every undergraduate follows two tracks, roughly a major and a minor. Its offer covers materials science, energy and chemical engineering, nuclear engineering, biomedical engineering and computer science, with graduate schools in artificial intelligence and semiconductor engineering and three Institute for Basic Science (IBS) centres on campus.
The key point for international applicants: every course at UNIST is taught in English, so you do not need Korean to study. The university actively recruits international students and faculty, and teaches through flipped learning, where students prepare at home and work through problems in class. We can help you choose a programme and prepare your documents.

Common questions about admission
Why apply through UNIPROFI specifically?
UNIPROFI is about a well-thought-out application and a strong outcome: we build an application path around your profile, goals and the requirements of your selected universities. You work with mentors who are current students or graduates of these schools, so you get real understanding of the system, campuses and opportunities — not theory. We take on complex cases (including minors and admission without an 11th-grade diploma), build an individual strategy for your profile and goals, and support you through every stage, from documents to your visa.
Do you guarantee admission?
We don't offer "guarantees for the sake of a sale," because no one can directly influence a university's decision. What we do is structure everything to minimize the risk of rejection: matching you to the right universities, building a strong application strategy and preparing documents carefully. If you complete the whole process under your plan and are not admitted to any of the universities we applied to, the service agreement lets you choose: a refund minus costs already incurred (university fees, translations, courier) or a free re-application for the next intake.
What are my actual chances of getting in?
We do not state a universal admission probability because the decision belongs to the university. We instead assess your profile, programme requirements and application strategy.
Can I apply on my own — why do I need you?
You can, but most students end up losing time, making mistakes, or settling for weaker universities. We save you months, help you start at a stronger level, and prevent the mistakes that can cost you admission.
